The Adult Computer Education Program provides beginning users with basic computer skills focused on developing participants’ self-sufficiency.

Tax Help

The AARP VITA tax volunteer program at Waite House offers neighborhood residents free tax assistance, including personal income, property tax and renter’s rebates. In 2009, more than $180,000 was returned to neighborhood families in tax returns and credits.



Urban Opportunities

Urban Opportunities helps adults find, keep and advance in employment opportunities by developing effective 21st Century job search skills, assisting in resume development, sharing internet job search strategy, and developing other skills related to finding employment.



Youth Employment Program


Youth Employment offers one-on-one counseling to youth ages 14 to 21, to set and meet individual goals in employment and education. Staff assist youth with resume writing, job applications, identifying scholarship opportunities and enrolling in high school, GED programs or college.
