After School Activities
During the school year, the After School Program operates Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Activities include dance, ceramics, painting, crafts, acting, cooking, tutoring, games and field trips. Available for children in grades 1st-6th.
Summer Arts Camp
The Pillsbury House summer programs are a safe, supportive, and multicultural environ¬ment for youth (grades K-8), full of structured creative activities. We provide daily, one-of-a-kind classes led by professional artists and trained youth workers. Each day, children learn and participate in structured and creative activities including; theatre, dance, poetry/spoken word, martial arts, media arts, visual arts, public art, community learning, urban gardening, cooking, and hip hop (boys and girls groups). Youth also participate in weekly field trips to parks and arts & cultural institutions. Our low staff to student ratio allows us to provide special attention and care to all youth.

$TBD per youth $50 deposit due at enrollment to hold a slot *limited scholarships available

TEEN PROGRAMING
Youth Action CREW
Pre-employment readiness program for boys and girls ages 11-14. The kids work with master artist Masanari Kawahari on service learning projects throughout the community. Contact Mike Hoyt for more information at [email protected] or 612-787-3655.
FANS
FANS stands for Furthering Achievement through a Network of Success. This program helps prepare youth in 8th through 12th grade for college. Youth and staff work together and develop plans to achieve goals like delaying parenthood, resisting drugs, contributing to the community and going to college. The youth are also given opportunities to find scholarships, prepare for the ACT/SAT tests and look at career opportunities that fit in line with college programs. Participating youth who fulfill the requirements are eligible to earn college scholarship money upon graduating from high school. Power of Our Voices
A teen leadership and mentorship program that uses performance to build self-confidence, life skills, and college readiness. Lead by acclaimed professional actor James Williams. Call 612-787-3626 or email [email protected] for more information.
Chicago Avenue Project

A targeted early intervention program sponsored by Hennepin County Attorney’s Office and the Minneapolis Public Schools, be@school works to improve youth attendance in schools.
Groveland Food for Youth
Groveland Food For Youth is a hassle free foodshelf for youth ages 23 and younger who are homeless or have recently transitioned out of homelessness. Unlike other foodshelves, you DO NOT need proof of address, picture ID or social security card. Groveland Food For Youth also has diapers and formula for young parents as well as first aid kits and other supplies to better equip youth for whatever setbacks they may experience. Full Cycle is a free bike program which helps homeless and street dependent youth age 23 and under learn how to build and maintain their own free bike. Youth are given the opportunity to:
- Build a custom bike with donated parts
- Build a relationship with a youth outreach worker in a nonclinical environment
- Access information about area social service resources and be connected to appropriate agencies
- Learn new bike repair skills that could lead to employment opportunities
