African American Lending Library

Oak Park Center is encouraging our community to come out and engage themselves with our rich African American culture through the enjoyment of reading and promoting literacy.

Oak Park Center will be opening up our African American lending library in the Spring/Summer of 2011 where the residence of the community can come and have the benefit of reading novels by African American authors, along with African American characters ranging from fiction to non-fiction. We want our children to remember where they came from but motivate them to know where they are going.

We have been and will continue to collect books that will be added to our lending library they can be new or used books and can be dropped off at any of the Pillsbury United Communities locations. For more information contact Latia Butler at [email protected].
