The Waite House Youth Program provides structured programming for over 200 youth annually, with a focus on academics, the arts, athletics, technology and civic engagement. Youth build skills through hands-on opportunities, including organizing, painting murals, performing music and playing sports.
Four keystone programs include:
Kids College
Students in grades K-8 receive one-on-one and small group tutoring through the “America Reads” program and work on supplemental reading and math enrichment.
Youth Action Crew
Middle school students (Grades 6-8) gain leadership skills through service-learning and
community organizing and become invested in their community through civic engagement on issues they choose. YAC includes:

- Fine Arts
Youth that are successful in Waite House Crew are given priority to enroll in FANS, and may continue their participation in service-learning beyond 8th grade through a program called “Teens in Action.”
FANS
High school students earn scholarship dollars by meeting goals in delaying parenthood, resisting drugs and violence, and contributing to their communities. Students receive support from advocates and mentors to achieve academic success and continue on a path to college.
After School and Summer Programs
Kids engage in a variety of fun and enriching activities including weekly swimming and recreational fi eld trips, academic support, art, athletic and garden activities and team-building.
