Civic engagement can take many forms, from individual volunteerism to organizational involvement to electoral participation. It can include efforts to directly address an issue, work with others in a community to solve a problem, or interact with the institutions of representative democracy. The following are some of the forms through which residents can be involved in civic engagement:
- Advisory Councils/Committees: Food Shelf Advisory Committee, Coyle Resident Advisory Council, Community Health Advisory Council
- Community Forums: Program planning and evaluation forums, Candidate forums
- Events: Multicultural Dinner, Women’s Night Out, National Night Out, Cedar-Riverside Health Fair, and National Crime Victims’ Rights Awareness Week;
- Voter Registration and Engagement
