Pillsbury Early Education Center

Located within Pillsbury House + Theatre in South Minneapolis, the Pillsbury Early Education Center offers a research-based, arts-integrated curriculum focused on preparing children for successful entrance into kindergarten and a head start for school success.

Highlights of the Pillsbury Early Education Center (PEEC):

  • Safe Learning Environment: Our staff-to-child ratios are no more than 7 to 1 for toddlers, and 10 to 1 for pre-schoolers
  • Affordable Fees: General rates are $229/week for toddlers, and $219/week for preschoolers. A sliding rate is available for those who qualify and we accept Hennepin and Ramsey County Childcare Assistance.
  • Flexible Hours: PEEC is open from 6:30am-6:00pm, Monday-Friday
  • Licensed, Community Based Teachers: Our teachers have advanced training and licenses and live in the Powderhorn and Central neighborhoods
  • Developmentally-Appropriate Curriculum: Each month’s lesson plan is organized around academic and fun themes like science, friendship and culture. Your child will be exposed to English, Spanish and American Sign Language.
  • Resident Artists: Pillsbury House + Theatre’s local artists work alongside teachers to foster growth and development through dance and drama classes that compliment your child’s learning experiences

Pillsbury Early Education Center (PEEC) is a culturally diverse and arts-integrated early learning program that offers affordable childcare to South Minneapolis families. The program offers a research-based curriculum that provides young learners with the unique opportunity to take part in music and movement classes taught by Pillsbury House + Theatre’s professional Resident Artists, while also building the social/emotional and academic skills they’ll need to be successful in kindergarten and beyond.

PEEC is accredited by NAEYC, which assesses programs for quality according to health, safety and education standards, and has also received MN Parent Aware’s highest possible, 4-Star rating. Our approach is culturally diverse and attentive to the individual and special needs of each child. Our caring, licensed staff have advanced training in early education, and decades of experience working with South Minneapolis youth.
