Pillsbury United Communities sponsors, guides and encourages charter schools that align with our mission, vision and values, as well as meet our sponsorship criteria, including:

  • Fulfilling an unmet need in the community
  • Having a qualified development team and staff

Pillsbury United Communities’ primary role as a sponsor is to provide oversight of the charter schools and to monitor student success and appropriate growth. Pillsbury United Communities has no direct financial obligation to a sponsored charter school and is not held responsible for the fiscal or legal issues of the schools it sponsors. However, we invest a great deal of time in reviewing financial records, meeting with board and staff, and reviewing academic outcome data.
