After School Programs

Daily Afterschool programs for youth from kindergarten to 8th grade are central to Pillsbury United Communities’ programming at four neighborhood centers.

Whether learning from professional artists-in-residence at Pillsbury House + Theatre or stretching their athletic ability at Brian Coyle Center, PUC kids gain competence in the Six C curriculum.

The Six C’s nurture competence, confidence, character, connections, commitment, and contribution in all the young people who pass through Pillsbury United Communities programming.

Specific after school programming may include:

Kids College is a reading-tutoring program that focuses on building reading skills and comprehension. Kids read one-on-one with staff, volunteers, and college interns for at least 30 minutes each day. Kids also receive help with their homework and eat a healthy snack. A partnership with America Reads.

Professional artist residencies that teach children to use their own creativity to accomplish goals, solve problems, and have fun.
