Providing quality care & education at an affordable price.
A t Pillsbury United Communities – Early Education Centers, we offer a proven curriculum, dedicated to providing children with the skills they need to enter grade school.
Our approach is culturally diverse and attentive to the individual and special needs of each child. Our teachers are thoroughly trained, versatile and caring professionals who are committed to the mission of the agency. Both the Early Education & Kindergarten Readiness Programs utilize the High/Scope curridulum. About the curriculum:
- This curriculum focuses on active listening: the children are doing what they are learning
- Arts-based with a focus on music and movement
- Utilizes a small group approach for many of the learning activities. Children are all together at the beginning of the day for breakfast & group time and then separate into learning groups, which help with socialization, provide more one on one attention and a structured learning environment
- Teaches sequencing – there is a beginning, middle and end to all parts of the day that the children are involved in
- Teaches the children how to plan their day, this makes the children feel in control of their day and activities
- Multi-cultural emphasis
In addition, we encourage family members to participate in Pillsbury United Communities special programs, such as holiday parties, after-school activities, and parents’ nights at each site.
Because Pillsbury United Communities subsidizes a portion of its services, as well as works with MFIP and Hennepin County Assistance Programs, we are able to offer affordable care without sacrificing the quality and attention that is so important for every child.
