Urban Opportunities Outreach Volunteer

Urban Opportunities helps adults find, keep and advance in employment opportunities by developing effective 21st Century job search skills, assisting in resume development, sharing internet job search strategy, and developing other skills related to finding employment.



Duties include:

Volunteers are needed to help expand capacity and enrollment in the program. Activities include community outreach and networking, marketing and promotion, and more.

Crisis Nursery Outreach Volunteer


Pillsbury Crisis Nursery is a child abuse and neglect prevention program for families in Hennepin County, serving families with children from six weeks old up to the age of twelve. Pillsbury Crisis Nursery offers a day program, as well as an overnight program that can help families work through their crisis needs. All services delivered through the Crisis Nursery are provided at no cost to the families.



Duties include:

In order to provide the highest quality care options, Pillsbury Crisis Nursery is seeking an outreach volunteer to help make connections with care providers. The Crisis Nursery volunteer is needed to support the program’s current work and make strong connections in the child care sector.

Brian Coyle Center Cultural Pack Giveaway Volunteers

Brian Coyle Center needs volunteers to assist on Thursdays during produce and cultural pack distributions for the entire length of the event (up to 4 hours).



Duties include:

Unpack pallets of produce and other donated goods and repackage them into parcels to ensure even distribution to clients. Assist in keeping order during the distribution process. Assist in getting parcels to the clients quickly during the distribution process. Keep clients moving through the line at a reasonable pace.



Special skills:

Language, esp. Somali, Oromo, Arabic, Vietnamese and Korean.



Benefits:

All produce giveaway volunteers that would like one are guaranteed one full parcel equal to what is being distributed.
