Sisterhood Boutique joins Open Streets Cedar-Riverside to present Fall Fashion Show

Girls in the Sisterhood Boutique

Sisterhood Boutique is joining Open Streets Cedar-Riverside to present 2nd annual Fall Fashion Show on October 1, 2016.

MINNEAPOLIS, September 23, 2016 -- After our exciting fashion show in collaboration with Augsburg College last fall, we have decided to take advantage of a new opportunity. This year, you will still see unique elements of Sisterhood Boutique Fashion Show: a traveling runway, trending new styles from the hands of our very own sewing program, and an exclusive experience at Open Streets in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood. Our mission of youth social entrepreneurship, community empowerment, and positive leadership development remain strong, and we are proud to continue our popular high school internship program.

With a new year and a new location, Sisterhood Boutique’s Fall Fashion Show will also be making some changes. We will be providing our guests with live music, henna, food, games, prizes and more! Not to mention our exciting show filled with youth-made creations, runway walks and style!

We look forward to continuing our great relationships with sponsors, designers, press, and all of our fans—and with only 8 days until show time, our staff has kicked into full gear. Sisterhood Boutique and all of our supporters are committed to making this year's production one that goes down in history.

Located in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of South Minneapolis, Sisterhood Boutique is a social enterprise of Pillsbury United Communities that was designed and is run by East African women, ages 14-23. Young women involved with the program learn a variety of personal and professional skills from business development to event planning, while the colorful variety of clothing and accessories available at the shop provide affordable clothing options for residents of the neighborhood. Sisterhood Boutique carries a wide selection of gently used women's clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories and scarves.
