Emerge’s FACT (Family & Children Together) program wins Annie E. Casey Foundation Family Strengthening Award
July, 2007: EMERGE Community Development is delighted to announce that its FACT (Familiy & Children Together) program is the recipient of a Family Strengthening Award from the Annie E. Casey Foundation. The award brings a check of $20,000 to support the program and will be publicly given at the United Neighborhood Centers of America/Alliance for Children & Families Annual Conference this October in Anaheim, California. The FACT program provides transitional housing and supportive services for custodial fathers and their families.
Family Strengthening Awards honor the people and programs working every day to improve the prospects of children and families living in tough neighborhoods. Each year, the Annie E. Casey Foundation provides grants to national organizations whose local affiliates are working directly with families in their communities. These national co-sponsoring organizations, in turn, make awards to exemplary local programs within their networks.
Family Strengthening Awards highlight the accomplishments of the remarkable people and organizations that show the rest of us how it can be done. Their outstanding work creates hope and opens the door to real opportunities for families.
