Charter School Authorizer Department

Pillsbury United Communities’ policy is to sponsor, guide and encourage charter schools that fit our organization’s vision, align with our mission and values, and meet our sponsorship criteria, which include a focus on learning, commitment to diversity, fulfilling an unmet need in the community, and having a qualified development team and staff.  Pillsbury United Communities’ primary role as a sponsor is to provide oversight of the charter schools and to monitor student success and appropriate growth.

Pillsbury United Communities has no direct financial obligation to a sponsored charter school and is not held responsible for the fiscal or legal issues of the schools it sponsors.  However, there is a great deal of time invested in oversight activities, such as financial records, board meetings, meeting with school staff, and reviewing academic outcome data.

Please contact the Liaison for inquiries on new schools and transfer school processes and timelines.
